Meet the Teachers


Born in Derry, Northern Ireland, Martina began dancing at the age of 3 with the McConomy School. 

Martina enjoyed competition (Feis) and was very successful before embarking on the professional world of Irish Dancing, placing top 5 in all regional, national and international competitions including the World Championships.


Martina has had an extensive professional dancing career which started with the successful auditioning for Riverdance at the age of 17. Martina went on to perform in Dancing on Dangerous Ground, Michael Flatley's Feet of Flames and Lord of the Dance. 

Martina has performed all over the world, including the USA, Russia and Japan. 

In 2012 Martina passed her TCRG and formed Celtic Hearts Irish Dance with her husband Mark.  

Martina brings an Irish style and technique to the dancing school with her Ulster upbringing in the heart of Derry.


Born in Watford and coming from an Irish Dancing Family, Mark was dancing from an early age. Mark was taught to dance by his mother Moira Skehill, a teacher for over 40 years in the Watford area. His father, Chris Skehill from Galway, Ireland was a former All Ireland Champion. 

In his teenage years, Mark dedicated a great deal of time dancing Ceili and Figure with Sean Eirean McMahon, which brought multiple World titles. Ceili and Figure became a real passion.

In 1997 Mark joined Michael Flatley's Lord of The Dance and went on to enjoy 5 years performing all over the World reaching out as far as Russia, Tokyo and South Africa.

In 2012 Mark passed his TCRG and formed Celtic Hearts Irish Dance with his wife Martina. 

Mark brings experience in solo, Ceili and Figure dancing to the class.
